Newfoundland & Labrador Forest Protection Association
HELPING TO KEEP OUR FOREST GREEN AND CLEAN
Community Events- Throughout its history, the Newfoundland and Labrador Forest Protection Association has been an active participant in community life and working with other groups who share a common interest (the forest). A couple of examples that stand out in recent years include sponsoring a national workshop for teachers from across Canada and erecting a monument to commemorate the members of Newfoundland's Overseas Forestry Unit who died while in service during World War II. The monument is located at the intersection of Cromer Avenue and Lincoln Road in Grand Falls-Windsor and is a "should visit" if you're in the central Newfoundland area. The site has been further developed as a memorial park by the town of Grand Falls-Windsor.
